ĞDev is the 1st test currency of Duniter-v2s.
Multiple iterations were launched:
- 2022-08-07: Lancement de ĞDev iteration #2 ce Dimanche 7 août 2022 (runtime-300)
- 2022-05-27: during the RML16 event Lancement de la blockchain ĞDev le 27 mai 2022 (runtime-100)
- 2022-11: during Bordeaux Hackathon ĞDev3 smiths
- 2022-12: ĞDev5 smiths
- 2023-11: GDev Runtime 700 - #11 by cgeek
- 2023-11-29: ĞDev Runtime 701
- 2024-02-04: ĞDev Runtime 800
It allows to:
- fix the Duniter-v2s bugs and caveats before the migration
- build the ecosystem around it (indexers, wallets, clients…)
- popularize new concepts among the advanced Ğ1 users to prepare the migration
- train the smith to operate on a network without consequences
- iterate faster than only runtime upgrade because it avoids writing migrations
