I live in western Australia. Ğ1 is part of a number of different technologies and institutions I am looking into with friends to try and give us some space to move into away from the powers that be.
Is it possible to start using Ğ1 so far away from the central clique? If so, how might we go about it?

Yes, it’s absolutely possible to start using the Ğ1 from Western Australia, even if there are no members nearby yet.
A good first step is to create a non-member profile (wallet/account). You don’t need to be a certified member to own or exchange Ğ1. Once you have an account, you can introduce yourselves to the community and make a post asking for donations to help bootstrap your local economy. I’m sure many members would be happy to support the initiative (personally, I’d be glad to send you some Ğ1 to help you get started).
That would allow your group to begin exchanging goods and services in Ğ1 long before anyone becomes a member.
Later, if some of you want to become certified members and start issuing the Universal Dividend, you’ll need to build trust with the existing Web of Trust. In practice, that usually means either:

I have also noticed another possible connection. There’s an organisation called “open food network” that is built around community supported agriculture, and has an operation in both Australia and France. I noticed the French location was also transitioning to a co-op structure.
I wonder if there’s any existing connection between open food network and Ğ1. They seem like naturally compatible institutions.
