This thread went quiet after 2.0.4, back in March, while the app kept moving. Ğ1nkgo is now at 2.0.26. Rather than paste twenty-odd changelogs, here is what actually changed for the people using it.
Private messages
You can write to anyone straight from the wallet, through the same Cesium+ inbox that Cesium and Ğecko already use, so a message sent from any of the three arrives in the same place. You can block and report a sender, and delete a message or a whole conversation from the node.
A certification queue
When the network makes you wait before you can certify somebody, you no longer have to remember them. Add them to a queue from their profile, order it as you like, and the app tells you when each person’s turn comes and reminds you on the day. Certifying or renewing someone takes them out of the queue on their own, and renewals can be queued too. The queue says who is a member and who already certified you. Certifications show the date they really happened, instead of a date guessed from block numbers, every list says whether the certification goes both ways, and on your own profile it reads “They certified you on…”.
2.0.25 fixed a nasty one: certifying one person from the queue emptied the whole queue. The people behind them stay now, in your order, with their reminders.
Contacts that no longer vanish
In 2.0.23: contacts could disappear overnight, because two parts of the app wrote to the same store at once and one of them lost. Contacts now live in a file of their own, with a spare copy beside it. Worth doing once anyway: export your contacts from the settings screen.
Payments say what they do
A payment could go out in DU while the field said Ğ1; the Ğ1 / DU choice is now always visible, and the payment terminal carries the currency you chose in its QR code, its NFC tap and on screen. A payment already sent can no longer be “cancelled” (that only hid the row: the money went anyway). Batch payments no longer leave a phantom “Sending” behind. Opening an account no longer shows a zero balance while it loads. Some Xiaomi phones stop asking to be the default wallet on every visit to Pay. Paying by NFC got a round of fixes: a request in DU is paid in DU, payment tags written by other apps are read with the right address, the NFC button stays on while it reads, and nothing is paid after you switch it off.
Your identity is safer
Before confirming your identity to join the Web of Trust, the app asks for two words of your recovery phrase, to check you really saved it. Losing the phone used to mean losing the identity for good if it was only protected by a pattern or a password.
Sign in to a website with your Ğ1 account
Scan the site’s code or tap its link and confirm from the wallet. forum.monnaie-libre.fr, for example, lets you log in this way.
The sales terminal now multiplies too
Type 2.5 × 5 to charge produce sold by weight. The keypad gained an operators column (× + ⌫ =), laid out like an ordinary calculator, and multiplication binds before addition, so 2 × 3 + 4 charges 10.
Each network stays on its own side
On the test network the app could read your balance and history off the production chain. Balance and history are now kept per network, and an indexer serving a different chain is rejected instead of being used.
Search survives the profile server
When the Cesium+ pod is down, names and accounts are still found, and the app says the server is not answering instead of claiming it found nobody. Many accounts that showed up as “Duniter Wallet” (a title another client writes, naming nobody) are shown by their real name again.
Membership, wallets, money
If your membership lapsed you can ask to become a member again from your own wallet. Importing a Cesium wallet accepts v2 addresses. Key files exported with an accented password open in Cesium and the other clients. The market analysis counts the whole period, not just its first page.
Brazilian Portuguese
Added in 2.0.15.
Packaging
The build is reproducible, so F-Droid can rebuild it bit for bit from source; the request to get it into the official repository is still under review. The Debian package ships with its real version and dependencies.
The rest, briefly
Offline payments restored; the app speaks Duniter v2 only; a better QR scanner that accepts both v1 public keys and v2 addresses; Android 16 and devices with 16 KB memory pages; changing your password is aborted if an account cannot be re-encrypted, instead of leaving it unreadable; successful payments are no longer reported as failed outside English; your account keeps the 1 Ğ1 the network requires; QR amounts written 1.234,56 keep their value; addresses from other networks are refused with an explanation; Ğecko’s QR codes and NFC tags are read again; the node lists are no longer blank on a new install; exporting on Safari no longer claims “copied” when the browser refused.
Where to get it
From now on there will be one message here per release.
