8 posts were split to a new topic: Ğinkgo 1.2.0 release
It started as a Presentations topic, and now there is a brand new Ğinkgo dedicated category on this forum
Can I split the topic in threads for easier search for newcomers? Or do you prefer to keep it as a single mega thread?
Feel free! I don’t have experience with discourse best practices.
I kept the initial discussion because it is very smooth and is a good example of how a new contributeur gets welcome on this forum ^^
(with things that could be improved as well as things that went quite good)
Then I split the big release announcements because it gives better visibility :
For example people can subscribe to the Ğinkgo category to get notified by email when a new topic is created in the category :
And then if they find that a topic is too noisy, then can mute it individually.
I also split unrelated discussions and support requests that belong more to Support category because this is less interesting to read afterwards.
The forum is a place to exchange. Some people bring contributions, some people ask for help. Having these in different categories helps finding the suitable tone for discussion. And finally, some people give small thank messages which I thing goes well into the Presentations category : a place where we can present ourselves and our work and get feedback from people, like a social network.
Btw, thanks a lot for your work, it is very appreciated within the community
No, thanks to you, for the forum housekeeping and explanations
